Instructions: A red flag warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now...or will shortly. A combination of strong winds...low relative humidity...and warm temperatures will create the potential for rapid and erratic fire growth. Please advise the appropriate officials or fire crews in the field of the red flag warning for portions of southeast arizona.

The national weather service in tucson has issued a red flag warning...which is in effect from 11 am to 8 pm mst friday. The fire weather watch is no longer in effect.
* affected area...the red flag warning is in effect for graham...
Greenlee...cochise...eastern pima and santa cruz counties.
* timing...relative humidity values across the area will fall below critical fire weather thresholds by mid-morning friday...with sustained 20-foot wind speeds exceeding critical fire weather thresholds by late-morning friday.
* winds...sustained southwest 20-foot winds of 20 to 25 mph with gusts up to 40 mph.
* relative humidity...minimum relative humidity values on friday are expected to range from the upper single digits to low teens.
* impacts...if conditions are met...any fires that develop will have the potential for rapid spread. Ongoing fires may experience rapid and erratic fire growth. Outdoor burning is not recommended.
